Do you listen to podcasts? If so, what are your favorite topics and why? Who are your favorite podcasters and why? What do you believe are the benefits you receive by being a listener?

 If not, why not?

 I’ve recently gotten hooked on podcasts. As I’ve mentioned in some of my previous blog posts, I have a 2.5 to 3 hour commute most days and podcasts are a great way to make use of that time. The podcast topics I am currently listening to are about business, personal development, and goal setting. I love the information, the interviews, the tools mentioned, and the realness expressed by some of the interviewees. When you see someone from afar, read their books, or read their blogs and articles, you don’t get a good sense of their personality. You get the message that they want to share, but you don’t get to hear the tone of their voice or the passion they have for the topic at hand. Sometimes that passion is what makes the message stick, not the words read on a piece of paper or on a website. The podcast is like having a conversation with them in the comfort of your home or car, even though they can’t respond to you. You get to hear the stories that might otherwise be edited out of books and blog posts. You get to hear the real and the raw, as much as possible without talking to them face to face.

I’ve learned so much, and have been so motivated, by the podcasts that I listen to on a daily basis. I am truly grateful for this medium, and will continue listening and sharing.

• Youpreneur by Chris Ducker
• Social Media Marketing with Mike Stelzner
• The Life Coach School with Brooke Castillo
• Smart Passive Income with Pat Flynn
• The Productivity Show by Asian Efficiency
• Online Marketing Made Easy with Amy Porterfield (my 2^nd favorite)
• The Marie Forleo Podcast (my 3^rd favorite)

As you can see I have my favorites but I definitely love all of the ones mentioned above. Some of them keep bringing me back to my why. Some of them help me create strategies as a new blogger. Some of them provide motivation and actionable steps. Some of them teach me about new tools that I can use in my business. All of them have mentioned trainings, conferences, and workshops that I would love to attend, and may possibly attend in the near future. These are the benefits that I get from these business leaders who have decided to share a piece of themselves with all of us. Their experiences can contribute to our success if we listen and incorporate ideas that are relevant for us. This is a free school that you can attend anytime and anywhere.

If you are reading this and have not tried podcasts, I suggest you give it a try. I am a late bloomer when it comes to them but now I am hooked. The best part is that you can binge listen if you are just getting started.
