Not knowing how to do something or never having done something should not be a deterrent from you doing it now. If everyone used that logic, we wouldn’t be where we are today, nor would we have the framework to realize that we can make change happen. Whatever you want to do is possible, you just have to make it happen.
There is going to be work involved. There is going to be some sweat, some tears, and possibly some blood. But you can make it happen. All new things start as a thought. Nothing man-made came into existence without first being a thought in someone’s head. Nobody is born knowing how to invent something. Nobody learns by osmosis. Nobody wakes up one day, snaps their fingers and has an invention materialize out of nowhere. These things take time, and discomfort, and people not believing. Taking the steps to learn to do something that you have never done before is how you will evolve. Think about it, as a baby you didn’t know anything. Everything that you know now, you had to learn. And most of you had to learn without having a past reference point. In my opinion, naivety is the best way to create. You have no bad memories or feelings from the past so you are able to believe in what you are creating. You are not limited by what you perceive as an impossibility. As adults, we have had years of people telling us what is possible and what isn’t, and it’s all based on someone else’s experience or lack thereof. Our world is shaped by the misconceptions of others. Why is it that we are so quick to believe the ones who say we can’t and disregard the ones who encourage us to go for it? Have we really gotten to the point where we no longer believe in ourselves? Before taking their word for it, ask them what they have tried. Ask them for their case studies and the white papers that they have read and/or written. Ask them for their prototypes and what their conclusions were. If they can’t give you that, then they can’t tell you that it’s not possible. Remember, most of the people who say that you can’t are the same ones who were too scared to even try. We live in a day and age where people have access to so much information. What you don’t know can easily be looked up online. With just a cellphone, you have access to vast libraries of knowledge at your fingertips. Not to mention the physical public libraries that are FREE. You can learn almost anything by watching YouTube or taking free online classes. We are no longer in a time where only the rich have every opportunity. Opportunities may not be the same for everyone, but they are there if you are willing to put in the effort. Your outcome is determined by your level of effort. Your future is in your hands.
Are you going to let someone else’s fear dictate your future? Or are you going to be the one that makes the impossible possible?
